Immigration law, or "droit des étrangers" in French, encompasses the entire body of legal rules governing the entry, stay, applications for international protection, and removal of foreign nationals, whether they are citizens of the European Union or nationals of third countries, in France. This area of law also covers issues related to access to French nationality, the personal status, and civil status of foreign nationals.
